Virginia Smelser is the Communications Manager for the
City of Bristol Tennessee and serves as the 911 Director. Mrs. Smelser has over 30 years of Public Safety experience
and has been with the City of Bristol Tennessee since 1994. She is committed to ensuring the safety and well being
of our citizens. Mrs. Smelser is a Nationally recognized Registered Public Safety Leader and currently, one of only three
in the State of Tennessee. Mrs. Smelser has also received recognition as a certified Emergency Number Professional through
the National Emergency Number Association.
The Dayshift Communications Supervisor
Mike Callahan serves as the Communications Supervisor.
Mr. Callahan has served the City of Bristol for more than 22 years. He has more than 15 years experience
as a dispatcher and has been a supervisor since December 2003.
